Mini I.F.D. Review: I’ve got one of these and made an adapter so I can use it with my 6″ Nils Auger. Last weekend I took it out on the ice for the first time. Using a Ryobi 18v Drill I was able to drill 30-40 holes in 5-6 inches of ice with two batteries. The functionality of the adapter itself exceeded my expectations, controlling the speed of the drill works really well and setting everything up was very simple. Cutting holes with this was fun and easy as well. I’d consider buying a nicer/more powerful drill (20v would be nice), but overall I’d highly recommend this unit.

6″ – Nils USA High-Velocity Hand Auger Replacement Blades – $55.99

8″ – Nils USA High-Velocity Hand Auger Replacement Blades – $79.99

Mini review: I have and use the Nils High Velocity 6″ auger as my primary auger. I would highly recommend this auger for anyone who doesn’t want to pony up for a gas/electric auger, or is looking for a lighter/more-mobile setup. Making holes with my 6″ auger feels almost effortless. The auger takes almost no downforce to cut, and makes it’s way through ice like it were butter. If you’re looking for  a hand auger you will never be disappointed with a Nils.
